Move-In Dates

First-Year Move-In: Sunday, July 6, 8:00 A.M.-10:00 A.M. (students will need to sign up for their specific move-in time)

Move-In Appointments

In an effort to space out move-in arrivals, all students will need to sign-up for a move-in appointment time for their residence hall.聽

Early Arrivals

Early arrivals will be limited and will require advanced approval. Please note that most requests for early arrival will not be approved.聽There will be an early arrival fee of $85/night prior to the residence halls opening.

Winter Break Closing Action Items

Students are not permitted to聽remain in their halls during winter break. Winter break occurs from December 19th through January 11th. Campus will not be open during this time period.

Remove and dispose of all perishable food items from your refrigerator and cabinets into the trash rooms

Unplug all electronic items EXCEPT REFRIGERATORS

Submit any work orders that you are aware of for your room (Agora Portal 鈫 Other Services 鈫 Facilities Work Ticket)

Turn heat to 55 degrees or the 鈥渓ow鈥 setting (where applicable), turn off all lights, and close/lock windows

Take all valuables with you, including medication, passports, etc. as you will not be able to retrieve them after you depart

Bring any textbooks or other items you will need for final exams home with you

Move-In Information

Students are not permitted to聽remain in their halls during winter break. Winter break occurs from December 19th through January 11th.聽The earliest a student is able to move in is 9am on Saturday, January 11th.聽Individual聽Early Arrival Requests before this date are not permitted. Students should arrive prior to the the first day of classes, which is Monday, January 13th.

Check-In Process

  • Students can go directly to their building during move-in weekend and must virtually check-in via the Spring Check-In Form in their聽聽in Agora.
  • We recommend students check-in via this form at least 20 minutes before arriving to campus to avoid potential access issues.
  • The Check-In Form will become available starting at 9am on January 11th.

Checkout Procedure:

  • Students leaving for the summer will be required to check out and vacate their rooms within 24 hours of their last exam, or by Tuesday, May 13 by 5:00 P.M., whichever comes first.
  • Rooms must be left in broom-swept condition.聽 Please refer to the check-out checklist below for directions on removing items from your space.聽
  • Check out of your residence hall at one of the Area Checkout Locations, and return your key if you were issued one upon check-in.

Check-out Checklist:

All residents are expected to complete the following checklist. Failure to do so may result in fines being placed on your student account. For more information on keys, damage, and trash, please review the Conditions for Residency.

  • Remove all posters, signs, pictures, nails, hooks, tacks, and tape from walls and ceilings.
  • Return all curtains, shades, lamps, and furniture to their proper place throughout your unit.
  • Remove all trash, papers, and belongings from drawers and shelves.
  • Wipe all drawers and shelves clean.
  • Remove all trash from room.聽It is a fire hazard to leave trash in the hallway.聽Please place trash and area rugs in the dumpster outside of your building.
  • Remove all personal belongings from room.
  • Close and lock all windows.
  • Turn off all lights.
  • Lock your room behind you.

Storage and Shipping

  • Students in need of storage or shipping of their items should contact Piece by Piece Movers at . Piece by Piece is the only approved vendor BC storage needs permitted on-campus to gather belongings.
  • In addition, students will have the opportunity to donate any unwanted items through Residential Life's "BC Clean" donation initiative.

BC Clean Donation Information

What Is BC Clean?

BC Clean is a donation initiative overseen by the Office of Residential Life in collaboration with Custodial Services and the Office of Sustainability. Members of the BC Community have the opportunity to donate items in good condition, such as clothing, non-perishable food, books, appliances, as well as general household goods and furniture. All donations are collected by local non-profit organizations who distribute them to individuals and families in the greater Boston community. Donation drop off locations are set up on the last day of classes during the Spring semester.
